“Hey, what’s up?” she asked as the door opened.
Instead of getting a smile or being teased, she was greeted by a hug. “Hey, what’s wrong?” she asked.
He pulled her in. “She left me for another guy,” he answered quietly.
“She what?” Linda asked, surprised.
He looked upset and looked as if wanted to cry. Linda knew that he liked his girlfriend a lot even though she felt that the girl did not even suited for him. She hugged him tightly. “If you want to cry, go ahead. You will feel better if you do,” she whispered to him and he did.
A few months later, he managed to forget her bit by bit with the help of his best friend, Linda. He sat in his car, thinking of his best friend who had been there be it day or night for him. He had always go to her if he had troubles and she would always be the one to comfort him if his girlfriends left him. His friends always tell him that she is the best one for him but he never acknowledges it. She is always there for me, he thought when his thoughts were snapped by the knock on the window.
“Tomohisa! Open the door!” Linda knocked his window.
He opened the door quickly and she got in. He stared at her. “Ne, do I look fine? I want to look the best for the graduation party,” she asked.
P stared at her, not blinking. She looks gorgeous, he thought. “Tomo-chan?” she asked.
“Umm..you look fine,” he replied and looked away.
Linda smiled. “Let’s go,” she said.
At the party, P watched as a couple of guys hit on her. He felt angry suddenly and was confused by the feelings. Girls swarmed over him but he just ignored them and his eyes were fixed on only 1 girl-Linda.
Linda came up to him. “Tomohisa, I think you better go home. I will take a taxi home. You have work tomorrow, right?” she asked, concerned.
He shook his head. “Yes, I do but I will send you home no matter what,” he insisted.
Linda looked at him weirdly and nodded slowly, thinking that he is in one of those weird moods. “I’ll be making my move soon,” she said.
A few hours later.
“Linda? You are home,” P said, pulling up in front of her house.
P looked at his side and saw Linda sleeping peacefully. He smiled softly and studied her face. Without realizing it, he was almost kissing her when Linda woke up and stared at him. P pulled back and blushed. “You are home,” he said.
Linda nodded. “Thank you,” she said and quickly went out.
She looked back and saw P looking at her. She smiled and waved at him before going in. P went off a few minutes later.
A few days later, P looked dazed. Ryo approached him. “What happened to you?” he asked.
“Nothing,” P replied.
Ryo decided to test him. He took out his handphone. “Linda-chan? We are meeting at 8 later,right?” he said.
P snapped and looked him. “You are going out with her? Eh? Why?” he asked, surprised.
Ryo looked at him. “Why should I tell you why? Linda is the best girl one can get and since she is available, why don’t I date her?” he asked.
“But she is not your type!” P said, almost shouting.
Ryo laughed. “You do like her. So why aren’t you confessing to her?” he asked.
P looked at him. “You tricked me. I do not like her. She’s just a friend. A best friend who is always there when I need her. Who is willing to spend hours listening to me talking nonsense, who I do not think I can live if she is not around,” P said quietly.
Ryo laughed. “Go, tell her before it’s too late,” he urged.
“But…” P hesitated.
“P, if you do not tell her now, then when? Till she find someone else? P, I thought you acted in Proposal Daisatsukusen. You should know better right? You cannot turn back time unlike in the drama, you know,” he said.
P smiled. “You are right. Thanks,” he said and got up to find her.
Linda was about to go out, shopping when P stopped in front of her. “Tomo-chan!” she asked surprised.
P pulled her into the car and drove off. He brought her to the sea. Linda looked at him weirdly. “Ne, Tomohisa, why are you bringing me to the sea? Isn’t this the spot that you said you wanted to propose to the girl that you like? You showed me this spot before. Why are showing to me again?” she asked, confused.
“I want you to be mine. Now, future, forever,” he said.
Linda looked at him in surprised. “Huh?” she asked.
“I like you. I love you. I need you. I want you. I don’t know but you are the most important person in my life and I cannot let you be with another guy except me,” he said.
Linda was surprised by his confession. “Umm…I… umm… what is it that you want from me again?” she asked.
“Be my girlfriend,” he said.
Linda stared at him. “Are you sure?” she asked.
P kissed her suddenly. Linda realized that he was telling the truth and accepted him.
A few years later.
“Linda! Come here,” P yelled.
Linda rushed into the room and looked at him. “What’s wrong?” she asked.
P handed her the 5 month-old boy. “Take him,” he said.
Linda took the boy and watched as P left the room, wondering why. She looked at the boy. “Akira, what’s wrong with your papa?” she asked him and all the little boy did was to giggle at his mum.
It was then that Linda realized that Akira had made a mess in his diapers and P was lazy to clean him up. “Tomohisa! You lazybum!” she muttered angrily and went off to clean their son.
